Irrigation pipes

HDPE and PVC are mainly used in piping. Dripping  pipe  used in farming is made up of HDPE. Dripping system is also manufactured from HDPE. PVC pipe is used from water. In the residential and commercial domain, PVC pipes are used in plumbing, drainage, agricultural irrigation, electricity & telecommunications systems and the ductwork of heating and cooling systems.

When combined, plastic irrigation systems and reservoirs have made an important contribution when it comes to water management. Water can be conveniently stored on dams and the dams can be covered with plastics materials to prevent leakage. The water can then be distributed via plastic PVC pipes to water circulation and irrigation systems.

Plastic mulch

HDPE film is used in mulching. Mulching is the process of covering the soil to ensure it does not degrade over time. Plastic films are used to help maintain the humidity and reduce the evaporation of water from the soil. This also enhances the thermal conditions for the plants, prevents weeds from growing, and preserves the nutrients of the soil.

There are various types of mulching such as surface mulching, vertical mulching, polythene mulching, pebble mulching, dust mulching live vegetative barriers, straw mulching etc.

Ecofriendly Bioplastic Short Note

In recent years, there has been a growing concern over the negative impact of plastics on the environment. Traditional plastics can take hundreds of years to decompose, and they are a major contributor to pollution, litter, and waste. One solution that has gained popularity is the use of biodegradable plastics. Biodegradable plastics are made from natural materials that can break down quickly and safely in the environment. These materials include corn starch, sugarcane, and other plant-based sources. Unlike traditional plastics, which are made from petroleum, biodegradable plastics do not contain harmful chemicals that can leach into the soil or water. One of the main benefits of biodegradable plastics is that they reduce the amount of waste in the environment. Since they can break down quickly, they do not accumulate in landfills or pollute waterways. This is especially important for marine ecosystems, where plastic waste can harm marine life and disrupt the food chain. Another ben...
